AltspaceVR announced today that Love Letter, the well-loved indie game, will be available to play in VR. It’s the first time Love Letter lovers from around the world can feel like they’re together in person playing a game.

love letter hearts“From the moment we tried AltspaceVR, we knew we wanted to be a partof this emerging technology,” said Todd Rowland, Director at Alderac Entertainment, creator of Love Letter. “The AltspaceVR team loves hobby gaming and bringing Love Letter to the VR community was a great fit. Anyone who visits the community can grab a quick game of Love Letter, and playing it in virtual reality is an awesome experience.”

AltspaceVR is focused on becoming the next evolution of communication between friends and family. The addition of Love Letter offers a distinctly new and fun experience for their users. Instead of calling or texting someone, AltspaceVR invites users to hang out together in a virtual space and play a game.screen_3840x2160_2016-05-09_16-48-33 (1)

“We’re focused on making you laugh or smile in your first few moments in AltspaceVR,” says Eric Romo, CEO of AltspaceVR. “Love Letter is a great new addition to our activities. I love how easy it is to learn and how much fun it is to play.”

To play Love Letter, users can join via the AltspaceVR app available on Samsung Gear VR, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive or via 2D on Mac or PC. Users will be transported to an outdoor floating garden where a cloth-covered table waits with the Love Letter deck. The deck art was beautifully rendered in the virtual space with all of the game’s characters.

Anyone can learn and play Love Letter in AltspaceVR during “How to Play” sessions being held throughout the day on May 17th. Samsung phone owners (S7, S6 and Note 5) can download the AltspaceVR app from the Google Play store to invite their friends to play in private games.
